History of Prairie View: 

Prairie View was established on July 15, 1879, in section 33 of the Rock Island Railroad. The town was not platted until later on September 24, 1887, by Daniel W. and Mary E. Thomas, Robert and Olive E. Thomas, and the Kansas Town and Land Company. 

Prairie View is located twelve miles north of Logan at 39°40’57” N 99°18’39” W.
