Roads and Bridges

The County Road Supervisor supervises the County Road and Bridge Department that constructs and maintains: 

  • 618 miles of gravel/ rock roads, 
  • 74 miles of asphalt roads, 
  • 541 miles of dirt roads, and 
  • Over 215 bridges and approximately 1075 Box Culverts (under 20 feet in length) …encompassing 900 square miles and 25 Townships. 

Phillips County has 9 motor patrol districts, each responsible for approximately 140 miles of road:

The Road and Bridge Department is responsible for: 

  • • Road and bridge construction plans 
  • • Providing information on road plans and right of way
  • • Right of way mowing and cleaning 
  • • Inspection, repair and replacement of bridges
  • • Snow removal
  • • Establishment and posting of speed limits
  • • Sign design installation and repair
  • • Construction, repair, resurfacing & road maintenance
