Director's Message - Business Retention & Transition
Surveys and Visits

Welcome back! As summer arrives in full swing, Phillips County Economic Development is gearing up for a season of meaningful engagement and community connection. Throughout June and July, I will be traveling across the county to conduct Business Retention and Transition (BRT) visits and surveys—a vital initiative to strengthen and support our local economy.

Why Business Retention and Transition Matters

At PCED, we understand that the success of our county depends on the health and vitality of our local businesses. The BRT program is designed to:

  • Listen to the experiences, challenges, and aspirations of business owners and managers.
  • Identify opportunities for growth, innovation, and workforce development.
  • Support businesses through transitions such as expansion, succession planning, or adapting to economic changes.

These visits and surveys are not just about gathering data—they’re about building relationships and ensuring that every business in Phillips County has access to the resources and support they need to thrive.

What to Expect This Summer

From Ag-based enterprises to Main Street shops, I will be visiting businesses throughout the county. Here’s what’s happening:

  • In-Person Visits: I will meet with business leaders to discuss their operations, workforce needs, and future plans.
  • Confidential Surveys: Businesses will be invited to complete a confidential survey to help us better understand the local business climate. I am able to provide both paper and electronic copies for convenience.
  • Customized Support: Based on what we learn, PCED will connect businesses with relevant programs, funding opportunities, and strategic guidance.

Businesses are free to take the survey at any time using the following link: https://forms.office.com/r/Z30XAWZSMN

I hope to connect with as many Phillips County businesses as possible this summer, so please expect a call from the PCED office to set up a time to visit!

Together, we can build a stronger, more vibrant Phillips County—one conversation at a time.
